Absent Subject is a quarterly study in anonymity. Each portrait withholds the one thing we are trained to look for first. What remains is not less — it is more honest.
A collar bone. The fall of fabric. A tattoo mid-sentence. We invite you to read a person the way you read a room you've just entered — by everything but the name.
Every subject appears with consent and without identity. The narratives are real. The names are, and will remain, withheld.
